Meet the Team Blog

It’s been a year of change and growth at Bathroom Centre Stirling.  We’ve taken on new staff and are in the process of opening our second branch in Fife.  We thought it was about team we did another Meet the Team Blog to keep everyone up to date with the staff that work at Bathroom Centre Stirling and their roles and remit.

Let's meet the team and find out what they do to keep Bathroom Centre Stirling running smoothly.

Garry Barber

Garry has been in the plumbing, heating and building materials industry all his working life {which is a while!} Married to Carol with 3 young kids, Garry has managed businesses since the age of 21.

Being self employed for the last 15 years Garry has plenty experience running businesses.  Having being involved in the showroom business Garry has learned from previous ventures and has kept the positive aspects and left behind any negatives. Bathroom Centre Stirling has been a massive success in a relatively short period of time and Garry is delighted to be part of it.

Having a good team of people is the key to success and we are the best placed business locally with a vast array of skills to carry this business to the next level and above.

Garry lives and breathes the business and is a family man at heart, he loves spending time with the kids and having family days out. Motorbikes are his passion along with golf, football, swimming and playing guitar to chill.

Garry is grateful to be part of a successful team and is delighted with the way Bathroom Centre Stirling has muscled its way to the top of the bathroom business locally with brilliant customer service and innovative ideas, keeping team BCS well in front of the curve always.

Neall Wilson

Neall possesses a wealth of experience in the Bathroom and Tile industries, approaching a total of 20 years. As Sales Manager for a market leading company, he supplied some of the most prestigious Bathroom Centres in the UK. Two notable highlights were projects completed at Cromlix House, the home of tennis player Andy Murray and Greywalls Hotel & Chez Roux, overlooking the iconic Muirfield Golf Course.

Whilst in the Sales Manager role in 2015, Neall met Garry Barber and after a period of careful business planning, ultimately agreed to a partnership to launch Bathroom Centre Stirling.  From day one, the business has flourished through the drive and focus not only of himself and Garry but also the carefully assembled team of colleagues. They fully share the vision of the business and are core to both the impressive growth achieved and the outstanding reputation for customer satisfaction.

It has been a whirlwind since the early days of the business, creating an impressive showroom from an empty shell and quickly getting ready to install bathrooms of the very highest quality. Exemplary customer service is the cornerstone of everything for us, from the moment you enter our showroom to the completion of your bathroom to the highest standard. We take great pride in provision of a very slick service, ensuring enquiries are processed as promptly as possible. We are committed to be the very best in our profession and we make friends as well as customers along the way, evidenced by the consistently glowing 5-star feedback received.

Neall has exemplary customer relationship skills, which he combines to great effect with expert product knowledge. His infectious enthusiasm and passion are evident when conducting bathroom surveys and he adds considerable value by offering customers a broad range of innovative ideas to turn their own vision into reality.

Neall is a devoted father of two and spends most nights coaching football, participating in the development of young football players alongside his own sons, Arron & Jay. His hobbies are football, badminton and motor racing.

His favourite quote is “Once you become fearless, life becomes limitless!”

Carol Barber

Carol looks after the Finances for Bathroom Centre Stirling and is married to Garry. Carol was involved with the business from its outset along with Garry and Neall.

Previous to this Carol worked for 20 years plus as a Medical Scientist for the NHS and Universities in the UK, Sweden and the USA.

Although new to the Bathroom industry Carol enjoys interior design and property development and outside of work is busy renovating the family farm. Carol is also busy looking after 3 kids,3 horses, a dog and Garry! In her spare time, she enjoys horse riding and competing, swimming, gardening and travel.

Marianne Myles

Marianne is our fun loving, outgoing, friendly, always game for a laugh member of the team who just loves to chat with our customers old and new.  With a wealth of knowledge in the bathroom industry she amazes us at times with her vast knowledge – who would have guessed that she is married to a plumber?!

Marianne comes with a strong finance/administration/customer service background having worked in the Financial Sector, Hospitality and Local Government.  Marianne is affectionately known as “Hawk-eye” on account of her exceptional eye for detail and memory.

Marianne’s main responsibilities are processing customer orders, invoices, supplier statement reconciliation and preparing the monthly payment run but you will often find her helping out in the showroom.  Marianne has a great knowledge of the products in the showroom and if you are looking for something in particular I’m sure she will know which supplier to turn to.

Kirsty Winfield

Kirsty Winfield looks after Social Media & Marketing for the team, together with her role as resident photographer.

Before starting at Bathroom Centre Stirling, Kirsty spent 12 years in Human Resources & Recruitment, both in Scotland & Australia, also including a two-year career break teaching English in Japan.

Whilst living in Australia, Kirsty began to follow her passion for photography, turning her hobby into a small business.  This continued on her return to Scotland, where she set up a wedding photography business.

Having photographed Garry’s wedding to Carol, Kirsty was asked to become involved with Bathroom Centre Stirling, photographing the stunning bathrooms installed by the team, for marketing purposes.  Over time, this role evolved to include responsibility for social media and marketing.

Kirsty enjoys building relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers. Bringing to the team, an artistic eye, customer-centred focus and a keen interest in customer after care, her belief is that ‘customer experience’ is what sets businesses apart from their competitors.

Aside from her passion for photography, Kirsty loves food, travel, home décor and above all spending time with her family.

Cameron McGrath

As Bathroom Centre Stirling's youngest staff member; Cameron or "Camy" as he likes to be called, joined the team to work two mornings a week but has proven himself to be a valuable team player and now works with us on a full time basis.

Initially, Camy was responsible for overseeing the operation of our warehouse. Responsible for collating and processing initial order sheets for incoming and outgoing goods, reliable stock management and inventory control, smooth distribution of stock to our fitters and operating our fork-lift.   Camy has now progressed into a sales and customer service role within the showroom.  Assisting customer product selection, providing product knowledge to customers and more recently carrying out home surveys.

Camy would describe himself as a confident, creative, and hard working individual, and we'd have to agree.  He has the gift of the gab and deals with customers with great ease. Camy likes to think he acquired his fab social skills via his hobby of being one of Stirling's most popular DJ's.

Scott Gillanders

Scott is involved in various aspects of the business but primarily carrying out surveys for potential customers, drafting up detailed scaled drawings & quotes.  When he’s not out and about doing surveys he’s usually found in the showroom dealing with customers who have already had surveys carried out, taking them through all the various choices available to ensure they get the bathroom they want.

Scott takes pride in watching each project come together from the initial scaled drawing to the final finished beautiful bathroom.

When, he’s not working, Scott, enjoys spending time with his wife & 2 kids.  This usually involves running the kids around to their various clubs, after school and at weekends.  When he does have spare time he enjoys watching any kind of sport, getting out on his bike and playing golf.

Alan Brown

Alan joined the team earlier this year on a part-time basis in the warehouse.  With the growth of the business this has developed into a full time role.  Basically, Alan’s role is to and oversee the operation of our warehouse, with responsibilities for collating and processing initial order sheets for incoming and outgoing goods, reliable stock management and inventory control, smooth distribution of stock to our fitters and operating our fork-lift.

Alan brings to the team his own unique sense of humour and easy going nature.

Zac Noble

At Bathroom Centre Stirling we are always looking at continuous improvement, whether that be customer service, more streamlined ways of running our business or expanding the business.

With this in mind, Zac Noble, one of our long standing fitters progressed into the role of Installations Manager.  Zac’s role is to oversee all of our installs, providing a quality control mechanism, a point of contact for our customers with any snagging issues and a link between our fitters and the showroom.

We recognised there was a need for this role, as our fitting teams are so busy starting a new job each week, it was often difficult for them to resolve any snagging issues as quickly as we’d have liked.  With Zac on-board in this role, given his experience as a fitter, we are in a position to be much more responsive to our customers.  This is a great benefit to the business.

Zac brings the business years of experience as a bathroom fitter along with a very customer focussed attitude.  He’s proving to be a great asset in his new role!

Riley Barber

Riley is a 19-month old chocolate Cocker Spaniel belonging to Carol and Garry and is part of the Bathroom Centre Stirling team 3 days a week. Riley (like Carol) is an import from Yorkshire and was a Prison Service dog before becoming a family and showroom pet.  The Team BCS Mascot alongside LooWee.
